From 6 to 9 October, IBZ Schloss Gimborn, in cooperation with the GS-Foundation, conducted a Police Street Survival Training in Odesa, Ukraine, as part of our “IBZ on Tour” initiative. Led by Rob Stenhouse and Timothy Taylor, the training focused on practical skills, personal safety and effective decision-making under pressure.
While short classroom sessions provided the theoretical foundation, the main emphasis was on hands-on exercises and reality-based scenarios, both indoors and outdoors. Participants practised responding to challenging situations, improving situational awareness and applying effective techniques under stress.
A particular focus was placed on gender-responsive training, empowering female police officers and military personnel to act confidently and effectively in demanding operational environments – regardless of physical strength. The programme combined practical operational skills with an emphasis on proportional use of force, individual safety and resilience in challenging circumstances.
A valuable example of international cooperation, practical knowledge exchange and our commitment to bringing training directly to where it is needed. A huge thanks to the GS-Foundation, our instructors and all participants for making this training possible!
