ASP Instructor Certification (AIC) Course incl. OC Instructor Certification (OCIC)

The ASP Instructor Certification Course is an intensive, hands-on training programme designed for professionals who wish to instruct others in the safe and effective operational use of the ASP tactical baton and handcuffs. The course also includes the OC Instructor Certification.

Participants learn practical defensive and restraint techniques that can be acquired efficiently, practised systematically and maintained confidently beyond the course. The focus is not only on mastering the techniques themselves, but also on developing the skills needed to teach and demonstrate them clearly and professionally.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be qualified and prepared to instruct other personnel in the operational use of ASP equipment covered by the programme.

The course is aimed at law enforcement, corrections and other authorised security professionals who are responsible for operational or use-of-force training. It is particularly relevant for police defensive-tactics and operational-skills instructors, academy trainers, public-order and intervention-unit instructors, firearms trainers with broader tactical responsibilities, and personnel nominated to become instructors in the use of batons, handcuffs and OC spray.

Participants should have relevant operational experience and preferably an existing training or instructional role. A suitable level of physical fitness and flexibility, along with active participation in all practical exercises and scenarios, is required.
